FACULTY OF ENGINEERING UPS SYSTEM IN USE
In order to prevent damage to electronic devices and data/process loss in case of possible power outages in the Faculty of Engineering, 2 100 kVA UPS connections from the central UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) system have been made with UPS sockets in all rooms. When there is an outage, the devices plugged into the UPS sockets keep the systems alive until the generator is activated and become inactive when the generator is activated (within approximately 7-10 seconds). Even if the generator is delayed or fails, the energy in the UPSs can supply the entire building for 20-30 minutes (which is enough time to eliminate simple generator failure or fuel shortage situations).
In order for the UPS system to work properly and to use the energy provided by the UPS efficiently, devices that draw high energy (heater, refrigerator, etc.) should never be plugged into the UPS sockets.
