FIRST STEP TO PARDUS

Pardus Kurumsal5 Linux operating system was installed on 6 of the computers in the free study laboratory, where our university students and staff can meet their internet and computer needs outside of class hours, and Ubuntu Linux Operating System was installed on 6 of them. In this way, we have taken the first step in our university for Pardus, our national operating system.

What is Pardus? Our national operating system PARDUS, which was founded in 2003, is a very easy-to-use, performance, free and free Linux distribution that can meet the basic needs of general computer users, which is being developed by TÜBİTAK-UEKAE. There are many main, intermediate and corporate versions of Pardus released so far. You can follow the information and development process of these versions at pardus.org.tr.

Feature of PARDUS:

  1.  Open source.
  2.  It is licensed under GPD.
  3.  It takes its name from the Anatolian panther.
  4.  It is a Linux distribution developed by TÜBİTAK-UEKAE.
Components of Pardus:
  1.  YALI (Yet Another Linux Installer): Installation software for installing Pardus and packages
  2.  ÇOMAR (Configuration Manager): Configuration manager for software compatibility
  3.  PİSİ (Packages Installed Successfully as Intended):Package management system for installing/uninstalling packages
  4.  TASMA: Application where the user can change system settings
  5.  Zemberek – Pardus: Turkish spelling check
  6.  Müdür: Advanced hardware recognition system
  7.  Kaptan: Desktop configuration
  8.  KDE: Desktop control
  9.  OpenOffice: Ofis applications

Sistem gereksinimleri :

  1. 800mhz Intel / amd processor (at least 1200MHz recommended).
  2.  256 MB RAM (512 MB recommended).
  3.  At least 4GB disk space.
