MAIL ADDRESSES AND EDUROAM ACCESS FOR NEWLY ENROLLED STUDENTS HAVE BEEN DEFINED
eduroam, Education Roaming (Eğitim Gezintisi) kelimelerinin kısaltmasıdır. RADIUS tabanlı altyapı üzerinden 802.1x güvenlik standartlarını kullanarak, eduroam üyesi kurumların kullanıcılarının diğer eğitim kurumlarında da sorunsuzca ağ kullanımını amaçlamaktadır.
Users of eduroam member institutions can connect to the network from another eduroam member institution (Guest Institution) with the username and password pairs they use to connect to the network at their own institution (Home Institution). When the user sends a connection request to the eduroam broadcast received while at the guest institution, the authorization server of the guest institution redirects that user to the authorization server of his home institution to determine whether he is authorized or not. The fact that all these queries are made through an encrypted tunnel between the servers prevents username and password pairs from being seen outside the user's home server. In this case, the only thing users need to do is to define the eduroam wireless network in the institution they are visiting as if they were connecting to their own institution's network.
eduroam has a hierarchy of federations. There are currently two confederations in the world: The European eduroam confederation and the Asia-Pacific (APAN) eduroam confederation. eduroam member institutions send queries to the eduroam federations in their countries, and the federations of the countries send queries to the confederations they are affiliated with. Each new federation that joins the European eduroam confederation and the APAN confederation, to which Turkey belongs, and each new institution that joins them, can be recognized by everyone involved thanks to this hierarchy.

As the Department of Information Technologies, the e-mail addresses and eduraom access information of the newly enrolled students were defined. Our students were provided access to wireless internet within the campus area via their e-mail addresses. Those who have questions about Eduroam can access the relevant page on our website here.
