OUR SYSTEM ROOM IS NOW ACTIVE

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) Department of Information Technologies has started to provide service by moving the system data center working through Akdeniz University to its own structure with an uninterrupted and successful work.

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKU) Rectorate announced that the installation of the system room, which constitutes the entire information network, complies with the technological developments of the age, incorporates all international standards, can provide point-to-point 10G data communication within the campus area, includes all automations, is suitable for expansion and stores its data securely, has been completed and put into service.

The system room, which was designed and IT infrastructure was created by ALKU IT Department, was built in accordance with national and international standards as a result of long efforts. Making a statement about the work done, ALKU IT Department Head Ümit Kuzkaya said, "The system room of our university started to serve at its place in Rafet Kayış Engineering Faculty with an uninterrupted and successful transportation process on March 7-8. Considering the technological devices and network structure it serves, we have brought the largest system data center established in Alanya to ALKU.

In the system where the Faculty of Engineering is the main end, the Faculty of Business Administration, ALTSO Tourism Vocational School and ALTSO Vocational School were connected with fiber optic cable as the back end.

The fiber infrastructure was also made suitable for the new units to be built on the campus from now on. The Rectorate, Akseki Vocational School and Gazipaşa Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Vocational School were connected to the system data center via Metronet connection. The connection problems previously experienced by users were eliminated with the 150 Mbps speed provided to the system. Metronet speeds in Akseki and Rectorate service buildings were doubled to 30 Mbps. The system room is supported by UPS and generator against all kinds of power outages and serves our university 24/7. In addition, air conditioning, air conditioning and cooling problems have been solved with an active-active or active-passive dual-engine system developed for server rooms. The system room is also protected by FM-200 fire extinguishing system against situations such as fire. With the firewall, server and storage architecture established, it has been made able to respond instantly to the IT demands that will be needed at our university. In addition, system room devices such as servers, active network devices and cabinets were donated from the Ministry of Justice Department of Information Technologies, thus ensuring redundancy and reducing our cost.

Finally, a monitoring and control system was installed in the system room and the operating devices are monitored 24/7. Temperature, humidity, flooding, entrances, UPS, air conditioners are under control. In case of any change, a warning is sent to the specified persons via SMS and e-mail.
